Wednesday Wednesday will start cloudy and damp across much of Scotland, parts of northern England and northwest Wales as rain moves east. Southern England, particularly the southeast, will see outbreaks of rain early on too, but this will clear to leave sunny spells. Most other areas will be dry with increasing sunshine. Through the day, rain will clear from most regions, although northern and central Scotland will continue to see outbreaks of rain. Elsewhere, it will be dry with sunny spells and feeling warm in the sunshine. Highs to 24C in eastern and southern England, 21C in eastern Scotland and Ireland but just 15C in northwest Scotland.
Wednesday Night A dry and fine evening for most across the UK though outbreaks of rain will affect Ireland into Northern Ireland then southwestern areas of Scotland, northern England and northwest Wales as the night progresses. Dry elsewhere but with cloud building. Lows at 9 to 14C.
Thursday A front stretching across Ireland, the Irish Sea and northwest Wales will bring cloud, rain and drizzle to parts of Ireland, northern England and Scotland on Thursday morning. Rain falling heavy at times across southwest Scotland and the Borders region. The rest of England staying dry with sunshine developing quite widely in the afternoon. Brighter spells develop across Wales as the day progresses, although some patchy rain may linger in the far northwest. Ireland, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland, especially southern and western areas, will remain largely cloudy with outbreaks of patchy rain. Highs 20 to 27C across England and Wales, 16 to 20C further north and west.
Friday Another front extends through Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales on Friday bringing plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain. Brighter and drier in southern, central and eastern England with sunny spells. Temperatures expected to soar in the southeast of England with highs here potentially reaching in excess of 30C. Highs at 20 to 27C more generally, cooler further west at 17 to 20C.
